DECOKING SOLUTIONS

Traditional decoking methods like steam-air/thermal decoking and chemical cleaning can cause mechanical damage due to over-cleaning and often fail to remove internal debris effectively. Mechanical decoking pigging offers a superior solution—more efficient, precise, and environmentally friendly compared to thermal decoking and hydro blasting.

Types of Furnaces

Crude Distillation Unit (CDU)

Mostly consists of light coke accumulation and
does not require high temperature application.
Tube diameters are typically 6″ to 8″.

Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU)

Mostly consists of light coke accumulation and
does not require high temperature application.
Tube diameters are typically 3″ to 12″.

Delayed Coker Unit (DCU)

Mostly consists of heavier coke accumulation and
requires a high temperature application. Tube
diameters are typically 3″ to 5″.

Visbreaker Unit (VBU)

Mostly consists of heavier coke accumulation and
requires a high temperature application. Tube
diameters are typically 4″.

Our Pigs

We have specially designed decoking pigs that are fully compressible. They are able to go through 90 and 180 bends without a struggle. While durable, they are breakable under pressure. This is to ensure that no harm done to the inner walls of your pipes when the decoking pig experiences any difficulty passing through the pipe.

HEADER DELIVERY SYSTEM (HDS)

One unique service that Pegasus offers is the cleaning of common headers. We use a HDS to eliminate the need of cutting and rewelding your pipes as it damages and causes unnecessary trauma to the pipes. The HDS enables convenient inspection of tubes with shared headers, eliminating the need for heavy machinery and allowing for precise and efficient evaluations.

Complete Cleaning: Compared to manual or less advanced procedures, the system’s design guarantees full covering of the equipment’s surface, resulting in a more thorough removal of coke.

Efficiency and Speed: Cleaning time is greatly decreased by automated cleaning fluid distribution, which also minimises downtime and boosts overall process efficiency.

OUR DECOKING PUMP UNIT

A custom-built Double Pumping Unit 40ft container, often called a DPU, is a containerised unit and is specifically designed to connect and deploy mechanical “scraper” pigs. 

These are the main components to the unit:

  • Double-pump system reduces downtime by cleaning two passes simultaneously, enabling quick downtime.
  • Operator-safe control panel with spark arrestors and auto shutoff valves installed for enhanced safety.
  • Onboard filtration system to separate and manage debris from discharge
